Water Supply Project for the City of São Tomé: MF&A Group Completes Two Missions within the Environmental and Social Impact Study

The MF&A Group has been developing the Environmental and Social Impact Study (ESIA) for the future Water Supply Project in the City of São Tomé, as part of a joint venture composed of PROCESL, QUADRANTE, MF&A, and FASE. MF&A is responsible for the environmental component of the project, with a particular focus on preparing the ESIA.

The first mission took place from February 19 to 26, marking the start of fieldwork. During this visit, the technical team surveyed all intervention areas and infrastructures covered by the project and held institutional meetings with various local and government entities. These meetings formally introduced the responsible team and began the collection of essential data for the study’s development.

The second mission occurred from May 12 to 16, strengthening MF&A’s presence in São Tomé and Príncipe and deepening the technical and social analysis required for the ESIA. In addition to new field visits, this stage was marked by strong engagement with local communities, dialogue with non-governmental organizations, and ecological studies that will significantly contribute to understanding the project’s environmental impacts.

Both missions represented important milestones in the environmental and social assessment process, reaffirming MF&A’s commitment to sustainable solutions and the conscious, responsible development of the territories where it operates.
